Reconstructing a semi-modular classic in a speculative 3D lighting study
In this speculative project, I recreated the 0‑Coast by Make Noise in full detail – as a photorealistic 3D rendering study. The semi-modular desktop synth is known for its unique sound architecture and tactile interface, bridging East Coast and West Coast synthesis philosophies. The visual approach focused on material realism, shadow play and precise geometry – emphasizing the matte plastics, aluminum textures and jack field logic that define the physical instrument. Uncommissioned and self-initiated, this study is both a tribute to Make Noise’s singular design language and an exploration of how electronic instruments can be reimagined in digital space.
